OIL TASTINGS

A unique experience to learn about and recognise the true quality of the oil, in a professional and fun way: the best way to understand extra virgin olive oil, to awaken the secrets and protect the richness and traditions of the region.

In our “Cantinetta” it is possible to taste different extra virgin olive oils. For example the Tenuta’s oil DOP (2nd prize in its category), oil from the Fattoria Montechiari, oil from Villa Baldaccini,oil from Tenuta di Valgiano.

We can also a visit to the “frantoio” where the olives are pressed.

During the month of November you can enjoy our themed menu. Dining with olive oil

- Cannellini beans with extra virgin olive oil from the Tenuta and steamed prawns

- Paccheri pasta with baby tomatoes, basil and extra virgin olive oil from Tenuta San Pietro

- ‘Involtini’ of courgette and swordfish marinated in oil from Montechiari

-steamed parsley potatoes.

…and to finish: chocolate mousse perfumed with extra virgin olive oil.

Since 2009 the Tenuta’s oil has DOP certification. In 2009 it also won 2nd prize as best extra virgin olive oil Lucca DOP.

You can buy bottles of oil 0.5 L or 0.75 L that can be delivered in Italy and Europe.

The Tenuta offers clients the chance to choose between 2 themed packages. You can spend a week helping with the olive harvest or give yourself a break from routine at the weekend.

After a morning in the olive groves, in the afternoon you can visit the oil mill to taste the freshly pressed oil,

There will also be a wine tasting at the Montechiari Estate in Montecarlo. The journey of discovery of forgotten flavors continues with a tasting of traditional Tuscan cheese and cold cuts, and why not finish with a Tuscan cigar, rum and chocolate….
