Every year, on the 6^th and 7^th and on the 13^th and 14^th March, the traditional “Mostra delle antiche Camelie della Lucchesia” takes place in the ancient villages of Pieve and Sant’Andrea di Compito.

This Camelia’s exhibition began in the 90’s and every year has become more important, increasing its international connections. A lot of botanical associations specialized in the camelia, such as the “Tea Exporters’ Association of Shizuoka, the Giardini di Boboli of Florence and the Castle of Pillnitz of Dresda.

The exhibition offers its visitors 3 different itineraries: delle Camelie, Storico e delle Acque, by which it is possible to appreciate and enjoy this characteristic flower and its grace.

The camelia with its Oriental charm and striking effect is made more enchanting by the villas and their gardens, the secular olive groves and the green hills of Lucca, that are the setting for the Mostra.
